For years in school I’ve struggled to memorize anything. When it came to science formulas, geographic location or events that happened earlier in the day. I could never understand why. Simple things like my friends birthdays, things people told me to do, and even certain tasks I’ve done a few times over. I could not get my brain to keep the information stuck inside.
These are some methods I’ll be implementing.
The Box Method
The easiest way to remember anything is to bring it to life. We need to create pictures that will bring our memory to life. This method is great for recalling objects because we know a room is just 4 corners. (Essentially a box) Remembering any text that’s drawn with letters will remove any doubts we have like “I”m not that great” or “I’m not smart enough”.
Imagine your stuck in a small room. Four Corners with white walls and your standing in the Center of it. In the first (1) corner, imagine there is a giant carrot that is 5x taller and bigger than you. In the second (2) corner imagine there is a heart shaped strawberry thats in the colour pink. In the third (3) corner imagine there is huge egg with a small crack that might spill out onto you. And the final (4) corner, imagine there is a huge blue broccoli that’s creating a shadow underneath you. Great!
Now go back through your corner, from beginning to end, and see if you can remember all that information. If it didn’t stick make the image clearer in your mind.

Senses
We are much more likely to remember events in our life that are special, extreme and felt deeply. Everyday events makes our memory feel dull since nothing is special, extreme or felt deeply.
Our sense is what helps our memory expand. Everything from sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste. When you train your senses you will improve your memory. Think of a golden retriever: How it looks like, How it smells like, How it feels like, and how it taste. (Maybe not how it taste like, but it’s up to you). Your not thinking how to spell golden retriever, but you’ve created an impressional memory of it.
Being Ridiculous
What’s the easier to remember. The tallest building in the world? or a generic apartment? Make your images bigger than you can possible think of. What’s more memorable? a pink german Shepard or a german Shepard?
Be as ridiculous as you can. The bigger, the weirder, and crazier it is. The more likely you are to remember. Use your creativity to make some ridiculousness.
